  • Marian and Saint Vincent Clinic Transferring

After careful consideration and analysis, we have decided to transfer the Marian Dental Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, and the Saint Vincent Clinic in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Atchison Community Health Clinic, a well-known and respected Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by June 30, 2024.

This decision is rooted in our commitment to ensuring the sustainability and quality of patient care at Marian and Saint Vincent well into the future. The transfer is not just a change but an opportunity for our patients at these locations. It will open doors to a more comprehensive and integrated care network, including a broader range of services immediately and future service expansion. This transition to Atchison Community Health Clinic, a well-established and reputable healthcare provider, ensures that you will continue to receive the same high-quality care you are accustomed to.

Known as the “everybody clinic,” Atchison Community Health Clinic believes that quality healthcare is for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Atchison is committed to serving the uninsured and those with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. Their comprehensive services include [list of services]. You can learn more about the organization and its services by logging onto achc-ks.org.

Because of this transfer, Marian and Saint Vincent patients do not have to do anything. The clinics will continue to serve their respective communities, and medical records, appointments, and insurance coverage will remain the same. Patients can continue to contact the clinics directly.

  • Duchesne Clinic Closing

After careful consideration and discussion over many months, it has been determined that Intermountain Health's continued operation of the Duchesne Clinic in Kansas City is not sustainable in the long term. Therefore, the clinic will cease operations on June 1, 2024. The difficult decision to close the clinic came after an unsuccessful attempt to become an independent FQHC and changes in the regulatory environment. The center of our decision is ultimately rooted in serving patients with the highest quality care and offering the type of services needed in the future. Numerous similar clinics are operating in the Duchesne area that we feel can better meet the healthcare needs of the population we currently serve and provide them with access to the healthcare they need. We are partnering with these organizations to ensure all of the patients at Duchesne Clinic are connected with one of them.

We know this news is unsettling, and caregiver teams will work closely with patients to ensure they continue to have access to the healthcare they need. We are committed to a seamless patient transition to another healthcare facility. To help with the process, we have been in discussion with similar clinics in Wyandotte County, many close to Duchesne.

A representative from Intermountain Health will contact patients by mail and phone soon with more information. In the meantime, patients are encouraged to contact the Duchesne clinic if they need immediate assistance.
